HOW Dinner Honors Lynette Schrank

HOW Feb 2016 Lynette SchrankAHWAHNEE – The Oakhurst chapter of nonprofit organization Helping One Woman (HOW) will meet to honor longtime Oakhurst resident Lynette Schrank at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Hitching Post in Ahwahnee.

“For 27 years Lynette has been courageously battling Hotchkins disease and breast cancer,” HOW organizers explain. “At present, her health obstacles have become increasingly difficult to overcome and manage. She has been blessed with a strong family and friend support system, but her care needs have surpassed that of which her family can provide. They now reach out to the community for financial and emotional support.”

Lynette and her husband Jay have two adult children and three grandchildren, with one more grandchild on the way.

Those participating in the HOW benefit dinner place $10 or more toward a contribution for February’s guest of honor, Lynette, and pay for their own dinners. RSVP to the Hitching Post (559) 683-7917.

Monetary donations or gifts for the prize drawing may be dropped off at Tokens Gift Thrift. For more information about this event, please contact Kristen Ambrose at (559) 760-5605.

How members believe that “one woman giving $10 can buy another woman’s lunch. Ten women giving $10 can buy another woman’s groceries. One hundred women giving $10 can change another woman’s life. This is how HOW works.”
