AHWAHNEE — The local chapter of the nonprofit organization Helping One Woman (HOW) will meet on Wednesday, June 21, at The Hitching Post, in support of Annette Carpenter.
Annette’s husband Rick passed away in September of 2016.
After spending some time in Mexico working with an orphanage that Annette and Rick used to volunteer for, she has returned home to Coarsegold and is in need of care.
“Rick’s address change to Heaven has been very difficult for Annette,” say HOW organizers. “Learning to live and cope alone has been a challenge.”
Those participating in the HOW benefit will offer $10 or more as a suggested donation for Annette. Proceeds from the event go directly to Annette at the end of the evening.
HOW says that “one woman with $10 can buy another woman lunch. Ten women giving $10 can buy another woman’s groceries. One hundred women giving $10 can make a real difference in another woman’s life.”
