BASS LAKE — Miller’s Landing is having one of their famous Hot Summer Nights parties on Friday, June 24. It starts at 6 p.m. and the folks at Miller’s think you should leave work a little early. Permission granted.
In fact, this is such a special party that you’re invited to sing along, and it’s BYOG – Bring Your Own Guitar. Besides the delicious tri-tip BBQ, games for kids, music and dancing, you can grab your guitar or ukulele and come show the locals and visitors alike what you can do. It’s a Hot Summer Nights song fest. What could be better?
Not incidentally, Miller’s recently held a little boat-christening contest to “Name That Tug” and over 600 clever suggestions poured in. The top names under consideration included Duffy Duck, Gilligan’s Girl, Tug O’ Love, Tug On My Heartstrings, Boaty McBoatface, Tug Life, Buoys of Summer, No Need For Speed, Knot-A-Lotta-Yachta, Millie, Tug Boat Annie, Elmer, No Yacht Yet, and BLT for Bass Lake Tug.
Finally, congratulations go to Gary Griggs for submitting the winning name, according to Miller’s, and the little tug shall be known as Wishon A Star. They plan to call her Star, for short.
So put on your three-piece suit (that’s a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops) and head to the lake. You know it’s time!
