History Group Seeks Photo Of Judge Marcia Putney

Submitted by the North Fork History Group

NORTH FORK – The North Fork History Group is searching for someone who has a photograph of Judge Marcia Putney who presided over the court in North Fork, CA circa, 1948.

Judge Putney was the first woman judge in Madera County.

The History Group is looking for information about the judge that could be used in a display.

The photograph, if it meets certain criteria, might also be selected for a permanent display at the new Madera County courthouse. The photograph will be returned unharmed after we scan and save the image.

If you have a photograph of Judge Putney or information about her, or if you know someone who might be able to help us, please contact Don Grove at 559-877-2141 or Ginny Smith 559-877-4807 to discuss details.

Thank You,
The North Fork History Group
