NORTH FORK — Once again the generous folks at Hillside Baptist Church will be providing those in need with new shoes just in time for the new school year.
On Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., North Fork, Wishon and O’Neals children who are pre-kindergarten to 12th grade and in need of shoes are invited to come by the church and have Pastor Carl Hatton and his helpers fit them with new shoes and socks.
This is the 11th annual Shoe Giveaway at Hillside Baptist, where they’ve provided thousands of new pairs of shoes to those who might not otherwise be able to have a decent pair for the school year.
Dozens of church members, people from the community and local businesses have donated gifts of either shoes or money to make this event possible.
Kids will also be offered free haircuts, a free lunch and the opportunity to select items from the church’s yard sale.
