Highway 41 Closed Due To Smoke From Oakwood Fire

MADERA COUNTY — CHP is reporting that Highway 41 is being closed down between Road 200 and Highway 145 due to dense smoke from the Oakwood Fire.

Smoke is blowing across the roadway, creating visibility problems and dangerous conditions for the public.

Motorists are being diverted northbound at Highway 145, and southbound at Road 200.

As of 4:45 p.m., the fire has jumped across Highway 41, and CHP reports visibility on the roadway at about 40 feet.
