Highway 120 Closed Into Yosemite From West

YOSEMITE – Yosemite National Park officials have announced that Highway 120, from the Big Oak Flats entrance to Crane Flats, is now closed due to fire behavior on the El Portal Fire. There is no access to Yosemite from the west on this route.

Big Oak Flats Road between Highways 140 and 120 is now open, making Tioga Road accessible from Highway 140 and Highway 41.

Highway 120 from Crane Flats across to Tioga Pass remains open.

Crane Flat, Yosemite Creek, and Bridalveil Creek Campgrounds remain closed. All other park campgrounds are open.

Smoke is visible throughout the park and visibility fluctuates throughout the day. Park visitors are urged to use caution while driving in the park due to decreased visibility. The park is constantly monitoring the air quality within Yosemite National Park.

Road closures within the park may change at any time. Visitors seeking updated information regarding road conditions should call 209-372-0200 or visit http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/elportalfire-directions.htm before traveling in and around the Park.
