Highway 120 Closed Due To Fire

MARIPOSA COUNTY – A portion of State Route 120 just east of Groveland has been closed due to a fire in the Buck Meadows area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Eastbound SR-120 is closed at Smith Station Road. Westbound is closed at Hardin Flat Road. The entrance and exit from Yosemite on SR-120 is closed.

No estimated time has been given to re-open the roadway, though CHP is advising the closure will probably be in effect for at least two days. The public is advised to avoid the area, expect delays and use an alternate route.

The CHP also urges motorists to drive with caution through this area and watch for highway workers and fire personnel.

For travelers headed to Yosemite National Park, please use SR-140 or SR-41.

Updates on all California roads can be found at www.chp.ca.gov or by calling 1-800-427-ROAD(7623).
