Heroes for Freedom Hosts Successful Inaugural Event at Bass Lake, Raising Nearly $32,000 for Veterans

BASS LAKE, CA  – Heroes for Freedom proudly hosted its inaugural fishing tournament at Bass Lake (Miller’s Landing), bringing together veterans, volunteers, and community supporters for a meaningful day on the water that combined recreation, camaraderie, and impact.

The event featured 12 boats, 33 veterans, and more than 60 total participants, including volunteers and organizers. Together, the group helped raise an impressive $31,900, exceeding the organization’s initial fundraising goal of $30,000.

This event was more than just a day of fishing—it was about connection, appreciation, and giving back to those who have served our country,” said Ryan Coates. “We are incredibly proud of the turnout and the support from the community. Most importantly, we made a real impact in the lives of the men and women who participated.”

Participants and veterans alike shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, highlighting the sense of community and appreciation that defined the day. As the organization’s first event, the success of the Fresno tournament sets a strong foundation for future initiatives and continued growth.

Heroes for Freedom remains committed to supporting veterans through engaging, community-driven experiences that foster connection, healing, and recognition.
