NORTH FORK — Every year, Grace Community Church makes Christmas food baskets available for the residents of North Fork.
Local residents in need of help can sign up in the Thrift Shop on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Nov. 19th through Dec. 17th and on Wednesday, Dec. 18th.
Baskets will be given away on Saturday, Dec. 21.
As costs increase for this program, church leaders are inviting the North Fork community to participate financially in this program.
This year, Grace Community will provide the items for a Christmas dinner to the first 175 North Fork families to sign up.
If others around the community would like to participate financially, donations can be sent to Grace Community Church, P.O. Box 193, North Fork, CA 93643 (with “Christmas Baskets” on the memo line, or contact Sandy at 559-760-4950).
Donations in any amount are welcome. The cost of the items for a dinner for 2 is about $16; for a dinner for 4 is $18; and for a family of 8 is $33. In the past, the church has provided dinner items for families in sizes ranging from one to 14 people.
The Christmas program is one of many organized by Grace Community Church to help ease some of the challenges of providing nutritious food to those in need in the North Fork community.
Church leaders issued this invitation to community members: “We sincerely hope you will help us with this endeavor. And, we invite you to join us each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for our worship service. All are welcome at the little white church on the curve coming into town.”
