THE MADERA COUNTY PERMANENT HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION FACILITY IS NOW OPEN

The Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility is located at Fairmead Landfill, 21739 Road 19 Chowchilla, CA 93610. See Directions below.

The hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays
(except Major Holidays)

FREE DISPOSAL OF RESIDENTIAL HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

The Facility accepts Motor Oil, Antifreeze, Brake Fluid, Grease, Battery, Ammonia Based Cleaners, Drain cleaners, Deodorizers, Aerosol Cans, Spot Removers, Oven Cleaners, Moth Balls, Photographic chemicals, Wood Preservatives, Art supplies, Paint Remover, Paint, Solvents, Insect Spray, Weed Killers, Pool Chemicals, Pesticides.

Items Not Accepted are Medical Wastes, Radioactive Material, and Large Compressed Gas Cylinders.

Quantities Limited to 15 gallons Liquids or 125 pounds solids per trip.

DIRECTIONS: Exit Highway 99 at Avenue 20 West, continue to Road 19 and take Right. Continue down Road 19; 1.5 miles, the Landfill is located on the right. Proceed to the scale and inform the scale house you are there to dispose of your Household Hazardous Waste.

Residents of Eastern Madera County, you are welcome to bring your materials to the Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Facility any time the facility is open (Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) We will also hold 1-2 temporary collection events a year in Eastern Madera County, most likely in the Oakhurst area.
