OAKHURST – The town is losing another locals’ favorite establishment as the proprietor of Grocery Discount Center on Road 426 announced she will shut the doors of the little-shop-that-has-everything, this month.
“We are closing the store sometime mid-to-latter part of August,” said Anita Disney, who has owned the store for almost 8 years, most of those with her husband Randy. Randy Disney passed away last November.
“Thank you for all the love and support that you have given us these past 7 1/2 years. It has been such a pleasure providing this service to our wonderful mountain area. We will miss seeing your beautiful faces every day.
We have all walked together in happy times and sad and I hope that Grocery Discount Center will always be remembered as a place where you could come and get a hug and words of encouragement. My beloved Randy loved all of you and so do I.”
