Good School News: Wasuma PTA Drives Fundraising

Wasuma Hot August Nights 3 2016 Lanie SudermanAHWAHNEE — Hot Wasuma Nights annual car show went off smoothly over the weekend for Wasuma Elementary, with an excellent turn-out of vehicles registered, and plenty people coming out to see the action and support the school.

The Wasuma School PTA organizers want to give a “big Wildcat thank you” to Sierra Tel, The Redwoods in Yosemite, Bass Lake Water Sports, Miller’s Landing, The Pines Resort, Theresa Wilson and Dennis Porter, and “all of the amazing businesses that participated, for their generous sponsorship and donations.”

Wasuma parent Lanie Suderman adds, “Supernaw’s BBQ kept everyone full, and Steven’s Italian Ice kept them cooled off. We always love having them.”

Altogether, the Wasuma PTA raised over $1,300 according to Lanie, and all proceeds will go toward music and art programs this school year.

“We have an amazing community and we are so very appreciative of their efforts to support us,” says Lanie. “We couldn’t do it without them. Go Wildcats!”

WASUMA HOT AUGUST NIGHT WINNERS:

Bill Mahle was the Grand Prize raffle winner of a certificate for two nights at the Redwoods in Yosemite.

Best of Show was John Zingrich for his ’48 Plymouth Business Coupe.

Best Engine went to Bill Brown for his ’29 Ford Model-T.

Best Paint and Best Interior belong to Jerry Privett and his ’55 Chevy Bel Air.

Best Flames were noted for Paul Linton and his ’57 Ford Ranchero.

Best Wheels went to Joe Delgado for his ’56 Chevy Nomad.

Kid’s Choice award was given to Gene Rapier for his ’57 Chevy Pick Up.

Wasuma Elementary is part of the Bass Lake School District
