Get A Little Ragtime In At Free Fresno Flats Concert

OAKHURST — Nothing like a little ragtime to put you in the mood for something sweet! We’re in luck: the Fresno Flats Historical Society will host a rousing ragtime concert on Saturday, May 4 at 5 p.m. in the Cunningham School House at Fresno Flats Historical Park.

Ragtime is a musical style that enjoyed its peak popularity between 1895 and 1919, and its cardinal trait is its syncopated or “ragged” rhythm.

Performing at the Fresno Flats concert are the ragtime piano due Jack and Chris Bradshaw, along with youth performer Anthony Sarginson, whose fiery playing is sure to turn up the heat, say organizers. Robyn and Steve Drivons will provide backup drums and tuba and will also perform a few hilarious songs from the era.

This is a family-friendly concert and all ages are welcome. Admission is free. For more information, please contact Bea Walden at (559) 760-4182 or (559) 641-2272.
