OAKHURST – Two Fresno men remain jailed after deputies discovered stolen property stashed in a motel room in Oakhurst.
On Monday, Mar. 17, deputies arrested Cody Ratledge, 19, and Lorenzo Leon, 27, both of Fresno, following nearly a week’s stay at a mountain inn located in Oakhurst.
Both are facing a host of felony charges, including burglary, credit card fraud, identity theft, forgery, and possession of methamphetamine for sales.
Late last week, the pair reportedly rented two rooms – 136 and 137 – and on Sunday checked out of room 136, keeping only 137. Motel personnel discovered the empty room in shambles. The immediate concern for staff was that the lock on the door between the two rooms had been destroyed.
Evidence left behind in the vacated room led deputies to the adjoining room where they found a number of stolen items related to previous theft reports and auto burglaries, as well as methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Ratledge’s preferred libations include marijuana and meth, says the Sheriff’s Office, and he remains jailed for burglary and possession of stolen property, with bail set at $30,000.
Leon’s intoxicating choices include alcohol and meth. He remains jailed for transporting a controlled substance for sales and possession of a controlled substance, with bail set at $10,000.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about these Fresno men is urged to call the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770 or CRIME STOPPERS at 559-498-STOP. Anonymous tips can also be made through the Valley Crime Stoppers WEB PAGE at www.valleycrimestoppers.org
