OAKHURST – Valley Caregiver Resource Center is offering a free workshop for family caregivers: Understanding Difficult Dementia Behavior.
The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at Oakhurst Lutheran Church. Some assistance for respite care may be available.
Organizers say the workshop will include information that will help family members, including practical suggestions and strategies to better help a loved one with dementia. Family caregivers will also be offered ideas on ways to cope with dementia behaviors and when to seek help for their caregiving situation.
The workshop is free for family caregivers. Pre-registration is required for all family caregivers to ensure that seats are held for the informational workshop. Class size is limited. Some financial assistance is available for respite care.
