NORTH FORK – Phyllis Overstreet will present a free demonstration of the techniques of watercolor painting on Sunday, Aug. 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Greater North Fork Gallery at the old mill site.
Overstreet is a North Fork artist who paints a variety of subject matter including landscapes, still life and florals.
She paints both local scenes and scenes from her travels throughout the United States and Mexico, Indonesia and Italy.
This local artist has taken many workshops with nationally known artists over a period of 45 years, plus a course with FSU in adult art instruction.
Her philosophy is to “paint what you know and love,” with use of color, light and shadow to give the paintings an appeal to all lovers of nature.
Overstreet is an experienced instructor and this is an opportunity for beginner or intermediate painters.
