Free Comedy Show At Bass Lake

BASS LAKE – Stand-up comedian Torio Van Grol, former resident of Bass Lake, is putting on a free comedy show at the Pines Resort, Lakeview Room on June 14.

“We are bringing up an amazing headlining comedian who has been on Comedy Central and NBC’s Last Comic Standing,” says Van Grol. “If all goes well, it will lead to a regular comedy series, where we bring top talent to the mountains.”

Joe KlocekHeadliner Joe Klocek is described as a square peg in a round hole sort of guy. “He was raised a Midwesterner, so he has manners, but living in San Francisco for 20 years, so he thinks he’s better than you. Joe does two things very well – tells stories and talks to the crowd,” says Van Grol.

Joe has appeared on Comedy Centrals, “Live at Gotham” and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” Voted, Best Comic in the 2011 SF Weekly Readers Poll. Joe also finished 2nd in both the Seattle and San Francisco comedy competitions. www.standupjoe.com

Kevin TienkenAnother featured comic, Kevin Tienken, is host of Nantucket Avenue Podcast. Voted most likely to become the next Adam Sandler by his peers in the Bullard High School graduating class of 1999, he is the star of the Yosemite International Airport commercial.

Also on the bill, William Lushbough has performed at numerous clubs around California. According to Van Grol, his act had been described as “weird,” “too weird,” and “not that weird.”

And finally, host Torio Van Grol. Torio now resides in San Francisco where he regularly performs for whomever will listen. Most recently, Torio finished runner-up in the Rooster T. Feathers comedy competition, almost finally making his father proud of him.

The show starts at 8 p.m. in the Lakeview Room at the Pines Resort. Beer, cocktails and appetizers will be available for purchase.
