Focus On Vibrant Health – Principles of Good Nutrition

PRINCIPLES OF GOOD NUTRITION – Are you living in accordance with the natural laws for a human? If not, your health will suffer. If you do not eat the nutrient rich foods your body needs to function, acute infections and chronic diseases are the result. As you have likely discovered, your doctor does not have a magic pill to help you when your health fails. You must depend on your body to rescue you, so it’s in your best interest to make better choices. Besides, some of the best foods are also the tastiest, as you will find out.
One of the most important researchers who contributed to human nutrition knowledge was Weston Price, DDS. He traveled around the world and studied the diet of healthy people eating the traditional foods of their culture. He found similar results as Francis Pottenger, MD had with cats. When nutrient poor, processed foods are added to the diet, people have rampant tooth decay in previously healthy teeth. When the next generation is born to these people eating processed foods, the children have crowded teeth and narrow faces, narrow pelvis and difficult childbirth, more infectious illness, modern chronic diseases, and antisocial traits..
Since prehistoric times, what has been the diet of humans? It has been meat and fat from animals that were hunted and killed. Also fruit, tubers, vegetables, grains and other seeds in small amounts, and honey all gathered from the wild. This is the diet our digestion is designed for. Humans are omnivores, able to use foods from a variety of sources.
The next several articles will discuss 10 basic principles of nutrition based on Dr. Price’s research.
