NORTH FORK — The following first-person account of an incident that happened Thursday in Cascadel Heights was provided by a SNO reader. It was titled: ‘Wildfire miraculously avoided when power pole fell into tall grasses.’

To: “News Desk — On Thursday around 1:30 pm in Cascadel Heights, a resident was airing up his truck tire and the truck rolled down the steep hill right into a power pole.

The power pole broke off and fell into very dry tall grasses.

The truck continued down the hill and hit a boulder, breaking its axle and causing the truck to come to a stop.

The power to Cascadel Heights went out immediately.

The area is entirely on wells which depend on pumps to get water to the homes.

Sheriff’s Dept was called to the scene to make a report of the incident and PG&E showed up fairly quickly to replace the power pole.
