Fireworks Ban Prompts New Ideas For 4th Of July At Bass Lake

BASS LAKE – The Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce received word on Tuesday that the 4th of July fireworks show permit will not be issued this year due to the increased fire danger.

“The Board feels that it is extremely important not to put our forests and neighbors at risk during this unusually dry season, but also appreciates the community traditions that have been established over the past 78 years,” says Michelle Miller of the Bass Lake Chamber Board.

“We see this as a great opportunity to create new traditions and revive old ones at the same time – including bringing new life to the Boat Parade of Lights!

“Plans are in the works to have a spectacular Laser Light Show on the water, choreographed to music. It may also include a giant water screen like the one used at Disneyland during the World of Color Show.

“Excitement is already brewing! More details to follow.”
