Fire Ready Workshop In Midpines Saturday

MARIPOSA COUNTY – A workshop to help residents protect their property from wildfire is being offered this Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Midpines Community Center.

With wildfire activity increasing annually, the Mariposa County Resources Conservation District (MCRCD) and Partners will kick off the first annual Fire Ready Workshop.

The MCRCD will be joined by state, local and federal fire and emergency officials to discuss how essential fire safety and fuel reduction is for private landowners.

They will introduce the idea of Fire Ready Groups and help to motivate private landowners of the need to reduce hazardous fuel loads by raising awareness of the need, benefits, methods and resources available.

The event will include displays, demonstrations and guest speakers.

The Midpines Community Center is located at 6364 Highway 140, Midpines, in Mariposa County.
