RAYMOND – Crews are at scene of a vegetation fire burning north of Raymond on Road 600.
At about 4:30 p.m., reports came in of a fire between the town of Raymond and the intersection of Road 600 and Road 415.
The first unit at scene reported the fire at 5 to 7 acres with a moderate rate of spread burning in grass and oak woodland on the east side of the road.
A full wildland dispatch was called out, and the incident commander requested additional water tenders.
Air resources were diverted from the Ferguson Fire to assist.
At 4:59 p.m., helicopters arrived overhead and fixed-wing tankers were cancelled.
At 5:03 p.m., the incident commander cancelled the crews and any engines not already at scene except two plus a water tender.
By 5:13 p.m., the dozer line around the perimeter was complete and helicopters were released.
The fire was contained at 6.75 acres at 5:38 p.m
