Fire Alert: Road 600 and Grub Gulch in Ahwahnee Area

AHWAHNEE–A vegetation fire is being reported in the Ahwahnee Area near Road 600 and Grub Gulch Road.  Ground crews and air crews are responding. Structures are threatened. We will update this article when new information is available.

Update 6:45pm 7.24.2022

The Grub Fire has been mapped at 6.8 acres with one spot fire of 1/4 acre. Crews are mopping up and will be on scene for several hours.

7/24 6:20pm- All Evacuation Warnings* have been LIFTED

ROAD BLOCKS- Closed to through traffic; Residents only:

– Road 600 @ Apache Ranch Rd
– Road 600 @ Road 810

*Deputies provided door to door advisements to any residents who would be directly affected by the fire. Based on the scope of the fire projection at the time, a Nixle notification to the surrounding area wasn’t warranted.

Our community’s safety is our highest priority. Emergency personnel are constantly monitoring conditions, and are dedicated to providing our residents with prompt, accurate, and timely information.

Update 6:15pm 7.24.2022

The forward progress of the fire has been stopped and the aircraft have been released. The fire is being mapped and crews are working to contain the fire completely.

1 structure is threatened and 1 vehicle is full engulfed.
