MADERA COUNTY – The fifth homicide of the year in Madera County took place just after midnight on Sunday, Apr. 21 near the Pilot Truck Stop in Chowchilla.A 18-year-old man suffered a fatal gunshot wound during a party held at Avenue 18 ½ and Road 21 on Saturday night. The name of the victim is not being released.
Detectives are still in the beginning stages of this investigation, and Sheriff John Anderson says all the killings in the county, including this most recent one, have been drug related.
