MARIPOSA COUNTY — One person is dead and another injured following a single-vehicle accident in the Bootjack area last night.
Just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, CHP responded to reports of a crash on Silva Road near Goins Way.
A 2005 Saab was reportedly traveling on Silva Road when it left the roadway, hit a large boulder and overturned several times.
The driver, a 37-year-old male from Mariposa, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and succumbed to his injuries, according to CHP. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 39-year-old female passenger was reported by CHP to have suffered minor injuries and was transported to John C. Fremont.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of relatives.
The accident remains under investigation.
