Fatal Crash Near Fish Camp, Arrest For DUI

FISH CAMP – A suspected drunk driving accident near Fish Camp early this morning has resulted in the death of a Colorado man and the arrest of a Fish Camp resident.

At approximately 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, Michael Allee, 30, of Fish Camp, was driving a 1993 Toyota northbound on Highway 41 just north of Summit Road.

According to CHP, Allee lost control of the Toyota due to his level of intoxication and ran off the road, colliding with a large tree before coming to rest.

A 45-year-old adult male passenger from Estes Park, CO, who was riding in the right rear seat of the Toyota, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

Mr. Allee was arrested at the scene on suspicion of felony DUI and manslaughter and booked at the Mariposa County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

Mark Touchstone, 27, also of Fish Camp, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was not injured.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.

This collision remains under investigation.
