MADERA COUNTY – A head-on collision on Highway 145 this afternoon has claimed the life of a young man from Fresno.
Caleb Ryan Koop, 25, was reportedly westbound on Highway 145 when his car drifted into the eastbound lane, hitting a pickup hauling a boat.
The accident happened at about 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, between Highway 41 and Road 38.
Two people inside the Ford F-150 were taken to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
Highway 145 was closed down for several hours. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
