Fall Festival Brings Out The Best Of The Community

OAKHURST – Under clear blue skies, the Oakhurst Fall Festival had people from all over out and about last weekend, enjoying arts and crafts, food and beverages, kids activities, exciting carnival rides and plenty of entertainment.

The weather was cooperative, with warm days and cool star-studded nights to climb aboard the Ferris wheel, and take in the other midway rides. Children enjoyed the bounce house, balloon animals, face painting, rides, games, rock painting, scavenger hunt, raffles and story time.

“Oakhurst Fall Festival continues to provide unique entertainment options for the community,” says festival committee member, Lanie Suderman.

“There were so many opportunities for people of all ages to participate, and we’re always excited to showcase our attractions. Next year promises to be bigger and better as we bring in more rides, entertainment and booths!””

The forces were strong on Friday as light sabers were loaned for special Jedi training. Music filled the air with the sounds of 82 Deluxe out of Hanford, and Elvis made an appearance that had patrons tapping their feet. Entertainment included Captain America, the Executive Rockers Show, Danny Millsap Band, acoustic by Ed Tide and an original performance by Manna Fire Dancers — a huge hit.

Presented by the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce for the past 26 years, the event is sponsored by Camarena Health, Central Valley Comm Bank, Foster & Parker, Fullmer’s Appliances Repair, Grocery Outlet, KW Realty, Miller’s Landing, The Redwoods In Yosemite, United Security Bank, Visit Yosemite | Madera County, Vulcan, Walt Bannon Drilling and The Pence Team at Nations Lending.
