NORTH FORK – Low drum roll in the distance — Friends, we have contacted the North Fork Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and they have embraced this special Fall Festival day planned for Sunday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the former Putney Ranch Camp located off Road 274 in North Fork.
This is a day to honor all of our local firefighting heroes with thanks, a ton of fun and a portion of the proceeds. They are all unbelievably brave and an amazing part of our community. Got to say it again, they are heroes – Superman & Wonder Woman heroes!
(Photo – girls from summer camp 2014. Station 11 PCF Rachael Rivera was there to show the girls that women do jobs that help their community.)
In the works is a jammed packed family and friends Funday/Sunday full of dancing to Executive Rockers, finger licking BBQ, a bake-off contest with a nice cash prize, lots of FREE activities for the kiddies, a “Pamper Me Cabin” for massage renewal or a quick mini manicure, a bounce house for the kids, a Country Store with just the right needs for the home, craft vendors for easy holiday shopping, beer, wine & good cheer, and amazing Brick Oven Fired Pizza.
Take home the local harvest from our mini Farmer’s Market. Have you ever tasted a Fresh Pressed Apple Juice Shot with a swirl of cinnamon stick? It will be a special treat with just the right taste of Fall.
Putney Ranch is nestled up against local treasure Manzanita Lake, and we have a paddle boat and canoes ready for kids of all ages to take on the water course around “Rock Island.”
Try your hand with a bow & arrow on our archery targets or sign up your team for some real REAL Paint Ball games! Or how about BINGO? We have B I N G O, hay rides with a real tractor ready to roll, and then our Grand Finale— roll out your blanket and settle in for an “Outdoor Movie Time” under our big beautiful night sky on the giant screen, complete with a concession stand. Please go to our website and vote for your favorite family friendly fun Blockbuster movie.
We have made great contacts in the community and they are on board with checks, crafts, food and support. With multiple vendors ready to stake out a spot in the rustic beauty of our huge property, we still have room for many more vendor booths on the gorgeous Siderman Family Camp and Conference Center, aka Putney Ranch. Special pricing can be viewed for crafters and vendors alike at www.PutneyRanch.com
Ticket pricing is just $10 adults and $5 for children and seniors (12 and under/55 and over).
The ranch is located at 56887 Shinn Cabin Lane, just off Putney Place across from the Transfer Station on Road 274.
**Editor’s note: As a member of the North Fork Fire Department Auxiliary, I want to say that this day will be dedicated to the service and the memory of Frank Verduzco, a 43-year veteran of the Madera County Fire Department, Station 11, in North Fork. Frank served this community all his life, mentoring young firefighters, serving as Station Captain as called upon, and responding to emergencies as a Paid Call Firefighter. Let this day be a celebration of his life and his service.**
