Faces And Voices Of Recovery In Mariposa

MARIPOSA — The public is invited to a meeting with the focus on addiction, community awareness, education, and support. The special event takes place on Wednesday, July 11 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Mariposa Government Center. It’s sponsored by Mariposa Heritage House, part of the Alliance for Community Transformations, working with people from Faces and Voices of Recovery.

“Addiction does not only take place in a dark alley behind an abandoned building,” say organizers. “It is alive and well, taking place right next door, in the local supermarket, in the church community, at the local tourist attraction, and in our schools. It walks among us. Many think it won’t happen to them, this is the ‘other’ person’s problem but it’s not. It impacts the community and it reaches far beyond public health.

“You can make a difference. The community deserves an opportunity to move through addiction and thrive in recovery.”

Community members are invited to join in, listen to a message of hope, share ideas, and become a part of the solution.

“Together, with one voice, we can change how our community looks at addiction and empower each other, showing the world that we can and do recover. For more information about the event call 209 966-7770.
