‘Extreme Registration’ Offers One-Stop College Enrollment

OAKHURST — State Center Community College District (SCCCD) will hold its fall semester ‘Extreme Registration’ on Friday, Aug. 2 from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held both days at the Oakhurst Community College Center’s main office.

SCCCD’s Extreme Registration is a one-stop process that offers everything a prospective student will need to enroll at Oakhurst Community College Center.

Similar registration events will be offered at Fresno City College, Reedley College, Clovis Community College and Madera Community College Center.

Fall semester begins August 12.

Available at this year’s event: more information about a new law that provides free tuition for first-time students.

Staff from admissions, counseling, financial aid and business services will be available to help individuals select courses and plan a class schedule.

Event attendees can register for classes, receive counseling, pay fees, get a student ID card and purchase a parking permit.

Day, evening, Saturday and online classes are available. Students can choose from more than 100 academic and career technical educational programs and may work to complete an associate degree, a certificate of achievement, or transfer to a four-year college or university.

State Center Community College District charges just $46 per unit for classes. Financial Aid is also available and includes scholarships, grants, loans, fee waivers and work study.

On Aug. 2-3, SCCCD will also offer Extreme Registration at Fresno City College Library, Reedley College Student Center, Clovis Community College Academic Center Building (AC2) Room 276 and Madera Community College Center TM 11.
