OAKHURST — Get ready to step into the world of Dogpatch this summer, as The Golden Chain Theatre brings the classic musical, Lil Abner to life in a theatrical production.

Directed by Lyric Gianni, this family-friendly show brings Al Capp’s iconic 1934 comic strip to the stage. Set in the delightfully downtrodden town of Dogpatch, USA, audiences will follow the misadventures of lovable hillbilly Lil Abner. Along the way, they’ll cheer for the heroine, boo the larger-than-life villains, and enjoy a satirical spin on politics, romance, and small-town life.
Packed with quirky characters, moonshine brewers, pig cuddlers, and plenty of outrageous antics, Lil Abner is a nostalgic tribute to American musical theatre.
