Expect Delays On Tioga Road

YOSEMITE – Starting next week, July 22, and continuing through Sept. 30, park crews will be scaling loose rock along Tioga Road from White Wolf to Tioga Pass.

The work will take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with single-lane traffic control and up to 15-minute delays.

There will either be pilot car operations or alternating stop-and-go traffic with flaggers, depending upon the length of single-lane closures. No holiday or weekend work is planned at this time.

Motorists in the park should also be aware of road work taking place on Glacier Point Road through Aug. 16, and prepare for delays.

Park hand scaling and equipment crews will be removing the loose rocks along the upslope side of the Tioga and Glacier Point Road embankments. Safety netting will be used during these operations, however park officials ask everyone to please slow down, be patient and cautious when traveling through these zones and DO NOT STOP in work zone unless directed to do so by NPS staff.
