Vote Now To Help Exchequer Win $100K

COUNTY – Great news moving forward in Exchequer Mountain Bike Park’s quest for a $100,000 grant from Bell Helmets to build an extreme downhill mountain bike trail: out of three contenders in their division, Exchequer is officially the West Coast Finalist and will now compete nationally for the grand prize award.

“We would like to thank everyone who helped us win Regionals,” says Grant Parker, president of Exchequer Riders Club. “It was a long hard battle. Don’t forget to ‘Like’ our Facebook page as we head into the next round.”

The Voting ProcessOnline voting was divided into three regions: West Coast, Central Region, and East Coast. West Coast voting closed with Exchequer as the winner with 12,638 votes. Central Region voting is complete, and East Coast voting ends May 24.

Exchequer needs the community to begin voting again – this time for the big $100K prize – on Tuesday, May 26, and continue through Thursday, June 4. Only one project – hopefully Exchequer – will receive the final full grant of $100,000. The winner will be announced Friday, June 5 at 3 p.m. Pacific.

Exchequer“Voting will be the same as before,” says Parker, “selecting our park, scrolling down and entering your email, clicking the submit button, then clicking on the confirmation link in the email.”

Please take note: If you don’t click the confirmation and complete the process, your vote doesn’t count.

Parker has a specific request for Sierra News Online readers.

If Exchequer wins, the “Bell Built trail will be a highlight of a new bike park located within two hours of the Bay Area, home to hundreds of thousands of mountain bikers,” says Bell promotional material for Exchequer. “With a handful of trails already in place, the gravity run will challenge riders and offer panoramic views of the open terrain.” The sponsor for Exchequer is the Merced Irrigation District.
