Our First Friday lecture series and been so successful (Thank you Brenda Negley!), that we have started a Second Saturday free demonstration series which will focus on artisan skills and activities from our not so recent past. Our demonstrations will include topics such as gold panning, bee keeping, beer making, horseback riding, and other exciting activities.

On Saturday, March 14, we will launching our second Demonstration – “The Art and History of Woodworking and Tatting.”

The event will have dual sessions led by the dynamic duo, Larry and Jean Smith. Larry will lead a session on whittling and Jean will lead a concurrent session on tatting. Larry and Jean are long-time Oakhurst residents and have been teaching their skills for many years in our community.
