Eastern Madera Recreation and Parks is hosting a Scarecrow Contest/Auction at the Oakhurst Community Center this Saturday!
This contest is open to all businesses, families, clubs and organizations doing business in and around Eastern Madera County. Scarecrows must be submitted to Oakhurst Community Center on Saturday, September 24th. They will be displayed for the afternoon and then auctioned off.
Scarecrow Auction will be a silent auction that will take place onsite and be announced in the last 30-45 minutes of the event. Don’t have the time or energy to build a scarecrow, then come to the auction and bid on a scarecrow. Hopefully you will go home with your favorite scarecrow.
Entry Fees:
$25 Individual/Family Submission + 1 free vote
$50 Business/ Organization Submission
Theme:
Be creative! Use your wildest imagination! Use the most creative materials! Your entry can be traditional, humorous or contemporary. Remember that this is a community celebration. The goal is to generate goodwill and a festive atmosphere. No political, religious, off-color or profane displays will be allowed.
FIRST PRIZE: Skateboard ($200 value)
SECOND PRIZE: $100 GIFT CARD
