In the midst of the pandemic, there is a huge need for blood donations, so here’s an opportunity to donate! Oakhurst Elementary School is working with the Central California Blood Center to offer a community blood drive on Monday, February 8th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Appointments are not required. If you are interested in donating blood, visit their website at https://signups.com/go/CJZDKLe. If you decide to donate blood, here’s what you’ll need to get ready for. Before you donate, eat a healthy meal high in iron, drink plenty of water and avoid highly caffeinated beverages. What to expect? You’ll need to bring a photo ID to register, participate in a brief interview, have blood drawn and relax. After you donate, drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous physical activity.
