Shawn Wilson was born April23, 1977 in Houston, Texas. He and his mother, Carol moved to California when he was an infant. Carol married Allen Roope on September 5, 1987. Shawn and his parents moved to North Fork in 1990. During and after high school he worked a variety of jobs several of which were at the Pines Resort. He married the love of his life, Frankie Peck on March 5, 2000.
Shawn began his career with the Bass Lake Water Company in 2002 and progressed to Superintendent before the company was sold.
Shawn resumed his studies online at Calvary Chapel Bible College and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies in 2023. One of his great passions was to study the Bible and discuss church history. Shawn loved serving his church family at Calvary Chapel of the Sierra which included teaching from the pulpit on several occasions. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Frankie and their dogs as well as cooking, riding his Harley motorcycle with friends and watching Nascar racing.
Shawn passed peacefully at home and into the arms of Jesus on March 17, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and LaVerne Wilson and Jerry and LaRetta Roope. He is survived by wife, Frankie, parents Allen and Carol Roope, brother Chris Bernal and his wife Nat.
