OAKHURST — Here’s what’s in the garage right now, all broken: a TV/VCR, a large fan, rice cooker, two modems, one pump, portable DVD player, radio/CD, and yes — a tire.
Thank goodness it’s time for electronic and tire recycling day in Oakhurst, sponsored by the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission Local Conservation Corps.
It’s Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sierra Star parking lot, located at 49165 Crane Valley Road, in Oakhurst, across from Sierra Tel. The event is free.
Electronic recycling free e-waste drop-off includes old or unused televisions, computer monitors, laptops, computer towers, speakers, printers, fax or copy machines, VCRs, DVDs and Blue Ray players, and small household appliances.
It’s also free tire amnesty day for residents only — no businesses, please. Residents may bring up to nine tires per vehicle/household, with or without rims, free of charge. OTR/Caterpillar or other large heavy equipment tires are not allowed. Proof of residency in Madera County will be required at the time of drop off for tires.
