COARSEGOLD – A single-vehicle crash on Highway 41 this morning sent the driver to the hospital and caused him to be arrested for DUI.
At 4:45 a.m., CHP responded to an accident on Highway 41 just north of Road 207.
According to CHP, Jesus Martinez, 21, of Milwaukee, Wis., was northbound in a 2014 Chevy Malibu at a high rate of speed when his vehicle went off the right shoulder, crashing into a large rock and trees as it overturned.
Martinez was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered major injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
Martinez was placed under arrest for DUI before being released to the custody of the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
