Driver Arrested For DUI After Running Off The Road At Bass Lake

BASS LAKE – A Coarsegold man was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs after running off the road near Bass Lake this evening.

The 47-year-old was northbound on Road 222 about 1/2-mile north of The Forks Resort just after 7 p.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and came to a stop on a pile of huge boulders, narrowly avoiding rolling his Dodge Ram 3500 into the lake.

After being evaluated by EMS, the driver was placed under arrest for DUI drugs, according to CHP, and transported to a Valley hospital for medical attention.

One-lane traffic was put in place as CHP conducted their investigation and the scene was cleared.
