Driver Airlifted After Suspected DUI Crash

COARSEGOLD – A Fresno man was arrested for DUI and airlifted to a Valley hospital after crashing on Highway 41 in the early morning hours.

At about 3:18 a.m. this morning, CHP officers responded to the scene of an accident on Highway 41 just north of Yosemite Springs Parkway.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a white 2006 Honda Civic several feet off the west side of the roadway, resting against a large tree.

The driver, Clinton Reinhardt, 26, was located nearby and had sustained major injuries, according to CHP.

After further investigation, it was determined that Reinhardt was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and ran off the road.

Reinhardt was placed under arrest and airlifted by SkyLife to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
