Drive-Through Dinner Benefits Vision Academy

Vision_Academy.JPGOAKHURST — Are you hungry and don’t feel like cooking, or do you want to help support one of the most important local organizations around? Oh, you want to do both? Well that’s great, because Vision Academy of the Arts is holding a drive-through dinner to benefit its annual high school scholarship fund.

To date, Vision Academy has given more than $150,000 to graduating seniors who intend to pursue the arts in higher education.

Come on out Friday, Sept. 23 between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and support the people who support arts in the foothills, as Vision Academy offers a delicious meal of pulled pork, cole slaw, beans and a roll for $10. The action takes place in the Sierra Star parking lot on Road 426.

All proceeds benefit Vision Scholarship Fund.

“Vision Academy of the arts was formed by a group of individuals who saw that our beautiful scenery attracted artists of all disciplines. In 1994, we began with four workshops and now have well over 20. about this item. Our instructors are accomplished and dedicated professionals in their fields. Our students range from professionals to novices. Vision receives no federal or state funding and is made up entirely of community volunteers. Our dream is to one day develop an actual Art Center where classes, workshops, and performances can take place. For now we are grateful to local schools and churches who have made their facilities available to us. We also want to thank the hundreds of people whose participation has made our workshops dynamic adventures for everyone involved. Please call, write or e-mail us if you have ideas for the future development of our efforts in bringing this ‘Vision’ to light.”
