COARSEGOLD — Here’s your opportunity to get to know our local law enforcement in a comfortable atmosphere, with no agenda except to visit and have a taste of something yummy perhaps with a side of caffeine. All you have to do is make a stop at the Wild Fig Kitchen.
Sponsored by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, the community is invited to have a “Doughnut with a Deputy,” at The Wild Fig on Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Based on the popular “Coffee with a Cop” format, people are encouraged stop at the restaurant located in the Coarsegold Historic Village, buy a cup of coffee, and enjoy a complimentary treat while discussing issues or just hanging out as you become more familiar with your MCSO deputies.
“These events are a great opportunity to eliminate some of the communication obstacles and make ourselves available to the community to have open and honest conversations about what’s important to them,” says Sheriff Jay Varney.
