Don’t Let Anybody Tell You There’s Nothing to Do in Our Mountain Communities…
Here’s What’s Happening This Easter Week

OAKHURST, CA — Who says there’s nothing to do in our mountain communities? As Easter week arrives, the Sierra foothills are proving otherwise with a full lineup of events ranging from live entertainment and hands-on activities to holiday celebrations and family-friendly gatherings.
Throughout the week, local venues are offering a variety of ways to get out and connect. The Firehouse Lounge at Chukchansi is set to host a LOL Comedy Show, bringing stand-up entertainment to the area, while recurring favorites like Open Mic Night at Idle Hour and Thursday Night Line Dancing at The Hitching Post continue to give locals a chance to participate—or simply enjoy a night out.
For those looking for a more laid-back option, Happy Hour at The Cellar offers a midweek opportunity to relax, gather with friends, and enjoy food and drinks in a social setting.
Creative and community-centered events are also part of the week’s lineup. A Craft Night at the Library at The Redwoods In Yosemite provides a hands-on activity for residents of all ages, while live theater continues with performances of Into the Woods presented by Golden Chain Theatre, bringing a well-known production to local audiences.
As the week moves toward the weekend, Easter-themed events begin to take center stage. The Easter Weekend Art & Craft Fair at Bass Lake will feature local vendors, handmade goods, and a festive spring atmosphere, offering a chance to browse, shop, and support regional artisans.
Families can also take part in the Bunny Hop Easter Egg Hunt, a seasonal favorite that gives younger participants an opportunity to enjoy the holiday in a fun, outdoor setting.
For those looking to celebrate around the table, local dining options are also stepping up for the holiday. An Easter Breakfast Buffet at Jackalopes Bar & Grill and an Easter Brunch at Ducey’s on the Lake will offer traditional meals in scenic Sierra settings.
Taken together, the week ahead highlights the variety of experiences available across the region—from casual nights out and live performances to community gatherings and holiday traditions.
A great resource for events in our community is the Visit Yosemite | Madera County website. Check out the details for a lot of these events on their Events tab.
As always, event details, times, and availability may vary, and residents are encouraged to check with organizers or official listings for the most up-to-date information.
If there was ever a question about whether there’s something to do in the mountains, this week offers a clear answer.
