Detour Alert for Southbound Traffic on Highway 41 in Madera County

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced a planned detour for southbound State Route 41 traffic due to paving operations.

The following detour will be in effect:
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 13, and ending Friday, Nov. 15, southbound State Route 41 traffic between State Route 145 and Avenue 15 will be placed on a signed detour. The detour will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, November 19, southbound State Route 41 traffic between State Route 145 and Avenue 15 will be placed on a signed detour. The detour will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Northbound State Route 41 will remain open to normal traffic flow. At various times, one-way traffic control may be utilized.

The detour will be as follows:
Southbound State Route 41 traffic will be placed onto westbound State Route 145, then southbound onto Road 36, then eastbound Avenue 15 and back onto southbound State Route 41.

GPS systems may suggest utilizing Road 38. This suggestion may cause additional delays and may prove to be difficult to navigate in some vehicles.

The signed detour could add up to an additional 15 minutes onto usual travel times.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time each day if necessary, due to delays caused by uncontrollable events that may occur during maintenance.

Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to vehicles and personnel in maintenance zones.
