Daniel A Lyons

Daniel A Lyons, 68, resident of Coarsegold, Calif., lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on Nov. 20, 2018 at 4:40 p.m. where he was surrounded by his family in his home.

Dan moved to Coarsegold in 2010 where he began his realtor journey with Century 21 Ditton. He was presented with the Century 21 Ruby Award as well as the Century 21 Quality Service award both in 2014, among many other professional achievements throughout his lifetime.

Dan served in Vietnam as a Specialist Four Scout Dog Handler as a member of the Famous Fighting Fourth Infantry Division of the United States Army during the period of September 1969 to September 1970 and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

Some of his hobbies and interests included bird watching from his large window in his dining room overlooking the beautiful Sierra, reading, listening to music, gardening and puzzles.

Dan is survived by his wife Vickie Lyons and his stepson Jake O’Neill (11). Loving father of daughter Dawn Christine Jessing (Ron Jessing) of Simi Valley, and son Kyle Spencer Lyons (Jennifer Lyons) of Thousand Oaks and their mother, Lynda Lyons; grandchildren  Jack Jessing (14), Grayson Jessing (11) and Sienna Lyons (3); and siblings Nancy Williams, Janet Stone, Margie Anderson, Cindy Allen, and Dexter Lyons. Dan was preceded in death by his big brother Stanley Lyons.

Many of his family, friends and coworkers would describe Dan as a loving, caring, hilarious and hardworking man. He will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 30250 Yosemite Springs Parkway in Yosemite Lakes Park (Coarsegold) on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. The family will be wearing patriotic colors to honor their hero and welcome you to do so as well.
