Cyclist Crashes On Walker Grade

NORTH FORK – A biking accident on Walker Grade near North Fork resulted in a Fresno man being transported to a Clovis hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Two bicyclists from Fresno were riding westbound on Road 200 at about 11:30 a.m. They were approaching Fine Gold Creek at the bottom of Walker Grade, when one of the riders lost control of his bike.According to CHP Officer Lutz, who responded to the scene, it appeared that the chain had come off as the bike was traveling at about 35 mph. A witness said that the bike began wobbling violently, and the rider crashed onto the pavement in the westbound lane.

That lane was blocked for about 40 minutes while emergency medical personnel attended to the downed biker.

The injured rider was transported by Sierra Ambulance to Clovis Community Hospital with neck pain and a possible concussion.
