Crash On Road 415 Ends In DUI Charges

COARSEGOLD – After wrecking her Ford Escape on Road 415 this afternoon, a Coarsegold woman will be charged with suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, according to the CHP.

Tracy Goddard, 36, was westbound on Road 415 near City View just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, when she ran off the right side of the road, crashed into the embankment and rolled over, landing on her wheels.

When other motorists stopped to assist, they found the driver unconscious behind the wheel. She had regained consciousness by the time CHP arrived several minutes later, but reportedly didn’t appear to realize she had been in an accident.

A breathalyzer revealed that she was highly intoxicated, according to CHP. She was transported to Minarets High School by Sierra Ambulance and airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of what were reportedly minor injuries. She was released to the care of the hospital for treatment. Charges will be filed at a later date for DUI, according to CHP.

One lane was blocked for about 45 minutes as the driver was tended to and the wreck was cleared.

Madera County Engine 8 and Cal Fire Engine 4295 responded to the scene.

No other vehicles were involved, and the accident remains under investigation.
